          For much of the twentieth century, the quickest way to produce a high-resolution image of outer space was to hire someone to paint it by hand. We can better understand space in general as the advancement of technology provides insight into what exists outside of our normal field of view. It can almost be seen as a form of art the way things in space like stars, stardust, and galaxies with the vibrant amount of colors included in their formations and shapes.          Many people helped create the artworks of space that we know today, such as Anna Atkins and Cecilia Payne. Anna Atkins's innovative use of new photographic technologies helped merge art and science.           When thinking about robotics and art, the first thing that comes to mind is the computer. Charles Babbage was the first mechanical engineer that made the concept of a programmable computer. Charles Babbage is considered the father of the computer as he built the first automatic computing engine to develop more complex machines known as modern computers.  Walter Benjamin had many complex thoughts on industrialization as being bad but having some benefits. He talked about how it veered away from individuality as the machines would produce less creativity with things like assembly lines. However, he did see the benefits that sprouted from industrialization in society. He saw an increase in technological advancements and increased productivity, leading to a mass production of art and culture that was more accessible to the masses.           An excellent start to the insights I've learned through mathematics influencing art and science is the vanishing points while looking at art. One-point perspective art utilizes math with determining the distance with one point on the painting as a vanishing point. The image lines help to bring a perspective to the image as they converge onto a single point which depends on the tile diagonal. Every angle and line in the image serves as an important function to bring the image to life and personify it.          The involvement of math and science in the art world has changed a lot from my perspective such as kinetic sculptures. Kinetics has entered the realm of art through the making of sculptures that move on their own without the help of batteries and such.           Being at UCLA for two years has given me some experience to see the structure of two cultures in my immediate world. From reading the words of C.P. Snow with the thoughts of the two cultures having a separation between  the literary and scientific cultures in Western society. C.P. Snow got to that conclusion from his research on the Scientific Revolution.            With most classes being moved online for my first year, I still managed to walk around campus in my free time going to the sculpture garden. The sculpture garden showed me the importance of art as I already understood the importance of scientific discoveries. With the impact, the scientific revolution had advances that were matched with impressions on literary society.
