griffineDESMA9 Two Cultures

Being at UCLA for two years has given me some experience to see the structure of two cultures in my immediate world. From reading the words of C.P. Snow with the thoughts of the two cultures having a separation between the literary and scientific cultures in Western society. C.P. Snow got to that conclusion from his research on the Scientific Revolution.

With most classes being moved online for my first year, I still managed to walk around campus in my free time going to the sculpture garden. The sculpture garden showed me the importance of art as I already understood the importance of scientific discoveries. With the impact, the scientific revolution had advances that were matched with impressions on literary society. As described in
The Emergence of a Scientific Culture, literary society did not take kindly to the changes happening in the science community from their perspective arrogance.

In my opinion, there should be no difference in artistic and scientific achievements as both add to the complicated world of human society. The picture below represents how there should be no division between something that makes us whole as they are basically one side of the same coin. There shouldn't be a difference as I haven't found anything much controversy between the two during my time at UCLA even though others may have differing opinions.
